For the varsity team this season, we’ve talked a lot about luck and referee calls just not going our way. Sometimes that’s certainly how it feels and, often, it might even hold truth.

What we can’t do is let it control us or make us feel helpless. Individually and as a team, we still have the most control over ourselves and our results. The hard work we put in has to make us good enough to overcome any external forces – luck, officiating, opponents.

When we work hard and become better, we are able to make our own luck.
